Customer Review: Surprisingly fun for a generic game.

Unless it is a WWF game, I usually do not play wrestling games. I find most wrestling games to be dulled down versions of fighting. Fire Pro Wrestling is definitely an exception to my usual.FPW offers a generic line up of wrestlers. You can pick from 16 different organizations, including a free agent pool. The names on the wrestlers are pretty generic, ranging from The Bionic Man to Mauler. I was going to discount this as another bland roster until I discovered the create-a-wrestler option. This game has the most detailed create-a-wrestler I have ever seen. You are allocated 260 points, which seems more than enough at first glance. Everything you enhance on your wrestler takes points. You can customize everything from their recovery time to what attacks are their strongest. You can even customize their AI fighting style. This is definitely the best create-a-character yet.
The feel of the game is not what I expected. FPW reverts to the old Tag Team Wrestling (NES) style of play. Pressing directions at certain times and tapping a button will determine your moves. It is a simplistic style, but also annoying when you hit the wrong button. FPW lacks the ability to run straight. You can only run in a diagonal direction, meaning that your charge moves must be very well placed. As for the graphics, I was pleased with the smoothness of motion.
Overall, I believe this is a should rent title. It is not the greatest, but there is definitely some value to the game. I liked it, but I can not see myself playing it four months from now.

ok this is a great game. there are over 150 wrestlers, the graphics are ok, and the gameplay is AMAZING!! There are hundreds of different options.But this is not a game for button mashers. If you press a button 2 times.... it cancels the move. But if you like Wrestling or just fighting (there are UFC people on it) get it now!!! I haven't played Fire Pro Wrestling 2 yet, but i really want it. I'd get the first one first to make sure you like it.Customer Review: This game is Awsome...Its True Its True

I've had this game for a week now. And this game is probably the best GBA Game i've ever played. I gave each part of this game a ranking from 1 to 10 1 being the worst 10 being the best.Graphics-7
The Graphics are slighty better. but nothing special.
Sound-6.5 Sound is kinda weak. not that great but its okay

The gameplay is awsome. chose from Normal Single Matches, Tag matches, elimination matches. A UFC type of match. Elimination matches, survival matches, DEATHMATCHES, Electric cage, c4 dynamite exploding ring aft set time.
Controls-8 controls are kinda hard. takes a little to get used to but not that hard
Overall-9.0
I think that if you are a Wrestling fan of any sort, this game will be awsome for you.

This game was the reason why I bought a GBA in the first place and I don't regret it.I love the grappling system. It focuses on timing and strategy and is much deeper than any of the WWE(F...whatever) games that I have played.
There are wreslters from WWF, WCW, All Japan, New Japan, Noah, Battle Arts, FMW, MPro, and there are even shoot fighters from Pride and other shoot organizations. The wrestlers are renamed to avoid lawsuits but you can change their names.
My favorite feature is the way your matches get rated for how good they were. This means if you truly want to be good at the game, you have to beat the wrestler and please the audience. This alone has kept me playing for nearly a year now.
Anyways if you like wrestling games then you shouldn't miss this game.

This game rocks!!! It has tons and tons of wrestlers let alone the moves!!!!!There are wrestlers with the same moves of the wwe (wwf) like they call the stone cold stunner the deep freeze and the Rock Bottom the body clutch slam, oh ya and the peoples elbow the perfect elbow. I know it might sound kind of ... but the game still rocks. There are deathmatches where in a time limit this thing explodes and your wrestler gets damaged and maybe even in critical condition. There also has a gruesome match kinda like UFC fighting. lets not forget the battle royal where you have to eliminate three other wrestlers in the ring. The only stupid thing about this game is that you can't take out weapons in hardcore matches. This game is better than road to wrestlemania for gba. (... that game ...) Get this game if you are a wrestling fan you won't regret.
