Video Game Reviews of Fire Emblem

Customer Review: An amazing tatical fantasy game with an ubeleiveable story
Summary: 5 Stars

This game boasts great graphichs, story, gameplay and interactions with your characters. The game is fun, very much so, and while in battle you can have certain characters interact through supports. There are many types of characters to choose, and they all are good to use. The hardest ones to level become your best and sometimes, even those who seem to be weak in the beinning become strongest at the end. This is a great game for everyone to enjoy.

Customer Review: Fire Emblem the Best GBA Strategy Ever
Summary: 5 Stars

Fire Emblem is the best strategy game ever. It starts out that you meet Lyn of the Lorca tribe in Sacae. Her parents died in a brutal attack by bandits.
You are a traveling tactiation you help her through many battles. In the first chapter you meet Sain and Kent two cavilaiers they tell you they are in search of the marqueses grandaughter. They figure out it is her and they fight for her.In the second chapter you obtain the ledgendary Mani Katti. The 3rd chapter 2 new characters join your side Florina a pegasus knight and Will an archer. Then in the 4th chapter you meet Dorcas who joins your side.In the 5th chapter Serra a cleric and Erk her escort a mage happen to join you.In the 6th chapter you meet Rath a nomad (a horse back rider who uses arrows and Matthew a theif. The marquess is being poisened by his brother. In the 7th chapter you meet Nils a traveling magician he makes it so that you can move again and Lucious a monk. After you defeat the chapter you meet Ninian Nils sister.PS if you beat the chapter in less then 15 turns you can do a side Quest. From then on your goal is to defeat Ludregen in the 10th chapter. After that Lyns story ends and Eliwoods begins.Im getting bored of typing so for more information type in fire emblem on google and on one of the websites it has over 20 pages saying what to do for every chapter.PS try to keep everyone the same level.

Customer Review: Awesome......(and no...i'm not a kid)
Summary: 5 Stars

This game is the best. The only worst part is the ending as you finish this quest in Fire Emblem 6 (Japanese Only at the moment)As most reviewers would have told you the game's weapons systems is based on rock-paper-scissors (sword-axe-lance)and magic (light-dark- anima (element/nature). Your role as a tactcian makes this game much more realistic than say FE8: Sacred Stone (you're basically god in that game)and also the fact that once a character dies, they're dead FOREVER. Much like real life. The game's saving after every move is always helpful as you never know when you have to leave without finishing the chapter. It's easy to be attached to the characters (i feel sorry for Erk and Matthew under Serra's constant chattering)Promotinon items with only a few of them, not enough to promote everybody, makes you carefully think who you want to promote and make them stronger. All in all this game is awesome, if you want a good challenge, an addicting game that puts you into one-more-turn mode then buy this game.

Customer Review: The best FE game in the US is also the first...
Summary: 5 Stars

Fire Emblem (subtitle Blazing Sword in Japan) is one of the best tactical/strategy RPG's on the GBA...even today, several years after it was released.

Yes, I am aware that a newer game, Sacred Stones, has been released here. Yes, I am aware the Path of Radiance was just released. I have played both of them, and I am here to tell you that the original is also the best.

Why is it the best, you ask? For starters, the story is excellent, as it is in all FE games. This one involves the return of dragons to the land after a thousand year absence...and they aren't happy to have been kept out. Or are they really? First as Lyndis, nomad and secret heir of a Lycian territory, then Eliwood, a young noble who lost his father, and Hector, a headstrong man trying to prove himself to his brother.
This game is the best one of those released so far in NA because of the characters. This game has some of the most memorable characters, and a heartfelt story with moments of levity.

The combat is turn-based, yes, and it takes place on a grid, sure, but it is vastly different from, say FFTA. In the game, as other reviewers may have told you, combat is based on a rock-paper-scissors system (substitute sword-axe-lance in there and you have the idea). There is a magical triangle that works the same way (elemental-light-dark), and bows and staves that work differently. There are weapons that revers the triangle or ignore it entirely, but these weapons only appear after you get the hang of the system. Some may find this kind of system limiting in terms of options, but I find it more rewarding than the glorified hack-and-slash of FFTA, which has weapon types out the wazoo.

Much of the strategy comes from using, choosing, and placing characters correctly. If a character dies, they are gone forever, and once you get attached to a character (and yes, it will happen, whether you like it or not), it is impossible to let them die. So, you restart the entire mission over. (You can save at any time by using the "suspend" option during battle, and you can save after every chapter.) If you do something stupid in the game, it is no one's fault but your own. By making the system simple, it places the burden of strategy on the player--and it is a burden. Several chapters will require repeated playthroughs due to trickiness or sheer number of enemies, and some bonus chapters should be avoided altogether (chapter 27x, Night of Farewells, comes to mind...I HATE BRIDGES!) Ahem...

Replay value is high, as you unlock a new scenario after completing the main game. In addition, there a few chapters that have different versions depending on the levels of some units. Also, you may want to replay the game simply to raise different characters.

Overall, this is my favorite game in the series, and one of the best games for the GBA. If you are contemplating buying a FE game, make it this one!

(Path of Radiance for Gamecube is pretty good too, but Sacred Stones...)

Customer Review: Answer to that kid's question.
Summary: 4 Stars

I just want to answer that kid's question, "Where are Roy and Marth?" I thought the same thing when I got Fire Emblem. The Fire Emblem series is not anything new in Japan. In the US, we are just getting used to it. This game was actually previously released in Japan under a different title, which I cannot type out since it is in Japanese. The orginal Fire Emblem game released in Japan some years ago stars Roy and Marth. Fire Emblem for GBA in the US is a prequel to that, which stars Eliwood, Hector, and Lyn. Eliwood is the father of Roy. The whole story of the Fire Emblem is actually quite intriging... If you really want to know more about it, look up "Fire Emblem" on Wikipedia.com There were actually several Fire Emblem games released in Japan, much more than the three in the US.
Now that I answered that question, I feel Fire Emblem is a great game. I will leave it at that, since the other reviewers have mostly said what I wanted to say. It's worth buying for GBA,... though I wish I had more free time to play it!
