Customer Review: Game Boy in pink Summary: 5 StarsOur granddaughter wanted this for Christmas. She was pleased with the color (you do have choices) and how well you could see the screen. She is not a "gamer", but loves to play with it when she has time.
Customer Review: You like gaming but aren't home very often? Gameboy Advance SP is for you! Summary: 5 StarsA little background. Do you remember the original hunker of a Gameboy, ya the one with the monotone screen? Weighed like 5 lbs compared to what Nintendo makes today? Ya, I owned that one. And the stupid portable, re-chargeable battery pack that doubled the weight of the Gameboy itself? Hmmm, ya, that's how much I played back in the day. Some where down the road I lost track of that system, I think my younger sister got her hands on it and I haven't seen it since. Fast-forward 10 years. The Gameboy Mini came out. Same screen, about half the size and this time it ran on AAA batteries, instead of AA like in the original. I bough that system and still have it, works great and there was so many games for it, its not like its going to go out of style any time soon.
So, lets move along about 5 or 6 later into 2007 and the Gameboy Advance SP. If you are interested in buying a system that has a great picture, one hell of a library of games considering that it is background compatible and basically plays every Gameboy game ever made, that loads fast, is lightweight, has a built in re-chargeable battery, a back-lit screen and that doesn't require the buying of additional memory cards like another portable system then it is totally for you! While I was a little worried about buying this system because a lot of games are marketed towards children, and I'm 28 years old I think that you might be surprised. Madden 2007, which I also wrote a review for on amazon.com is a great game for this system, and parallels the GameCube version very well. In addition, I do have big hands so the console does feel small to me, but it is very easy to hold for extended periods of time. The battery life is excellent and the system includes the charger. The picture really could not get any clearer and the amazing size of it even completely unfolded leaves me to wonder how the programmers packed 32 bit power into such as small package. And don't forget, all of this is out the door at a price that is under a $[...], and I have seen package deals with a couple of games included for a $[...].
Nintendo has really put another great product out on the market and I think that if you like gaming, but aren't home very often to enjoy your console then the Gameboy Advance SP is a clear winner and a best buy!
