The new game boy advance Sp is the best one yet! The design is perfect, including conviniatly placed buttons.

PROS
- A backlight (a light built into the screen - like a tv has so that you can see it in the dark with out turning on the lights) for at night play, in boring movies, on the airplane, or on long road trips.

- the L and R buttons are convenientily placed

- built in battery that is charged by connecting the gameboy to an in the wall outlet, or car outlet

- while the battery is charging you can still play a game

- you control wether you want the back light on or not

- can play game boy, game boy color, and game boy advance games, as well as the new videos available

- better than a video now player for videos, this screen is lighted like a tv screen, in color, and has a bigger screen

Cons
- there are none!

My son received this (Onyx)and 7 games from his grandparents and uncle for his 5th bday. Not only did he get the system and games, he also received the earplugs, car adapter, carry case (blue), magnifyer and game storage cases. My son removed the magnifyer because he said he didn't need it because he can see. He also said it gets in the way. He's just getting into video games because his parents don't play so he's pretty much on his own with mastering each level. I've been paying lots of attention to my son to see how long he plays. Later I'll determine how much time I will allot for him to play. GBA appears to be durable and fun. Every night before he goes to bed, I recharge it to make sure he has enough power. I'm still not computely sold on a 5 yr old receiving such an expensive gift, but who am I? I'm just mom.

First off, the rechargable battery and backlight screen should have been available with the regular GBA. The case is nice that it folds and protects the screen but the controlls feel too cramped. The fact that you need a seperate adapter to use the headphones is rediculous too! Shouldnt they have put a regular headphone jack on the GBA just like every other electronic portable audio/video device on this planet has has??! I think I'll save my $$ and wait for the PSP ( Playstation Portable ) to come out soon.
