Video Game Reviews of Mario & Luigi Superstar SagaCustomer Review: Good Game -a little tough for the younger ages Summary: 4 StarsOverall this game is fun and was a good buy. I do not want to rehash what the other reviewers have written, they are pretty much right on with their assessment. But I do have to say, this game is a little too much for younger kids. My little guy (age 4) loves the nintendo characters and he can handle most platform based games, so I picked him up this game based on the reviews I read, not realizing that the game has a RPG aspect to it. I actually thought I had bought him something else, but decided to give the game a chance based on the reviews. There are too many breaks in the action and too much reading involved to hold the younger audience.
Customer Review: Player's Choice Summary: 5 StarsOverall, this game is an excellent game for those crazy about RPG. It isn't as complicated as Final Fantasy, where you have tons of magic and stones and what-not involved. It's simple, but challenging at the same time. The game uses lots of humor, and it took me two times through the game to get all the meanings and humorous parts.
The characters are well-developed, and they even talk! (Well, not really, but they do say gibberish). You can control both Mario and Luigi by using the L and R buttons, and they each have moves specific to themselves.
Battling the bad guys is different than normal side-scrolling Mario games. Rather than just stomping on them and defeating them, it's more like a Paper Mario battle scene. You make use of rotating buttons on screen to choose whether to attack (with three different attacks: Jump, Hammer, Hand), Bros. Attack, where you pair up with the other brother for an attack, Item, and Run (which you can run from the battle).
The game uses graphics that are PERFECT for the GBA, and the sound quality is amazing, although it would be hard to compare with the DS sound. However, the game does end too quickly (15 hours for me), but it's fun playing the game over and over again.
If you are looking for a great game, look no more! Mario and Luigi is an excellent five star game that comes to you at a low price! ($19.99 MSRP)!
Customer Review: AWESOME!!! Summary: 5 StarsOK, so I'm not under 13, but that doesn't stop me from liking this game! IT'S FREAKING AWESOME!!! ALMOST as good as Halo, and that's saying something. The graphics are awesome. The battles and moves you can do are sweet. LOTS of replay value. The only complaint I have is after beating the last boss, the game just ends. I wish you could still walk around and fight and stuff. But no big.
Customer Review: One of the best Mario's RPGs Summary: 5 StarsNintendo and Alpha Dreams have made an excellent and addictive game for everyone and even better than "Partners in time" sequel.
Customer Review: awesome GBA game Summary: 5 StarsI just ordered Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga from Amazon and the game is awesome. It has nice graphics for the console and is pretty long compared to some other handheld games. The story is fun and the battles are even greater. If you're a fan of Mario or even want to find any good game for your GBA, definitely pick this one up! (im actually not under 13, but this account is registered under a different person so i used this)
