Video Game Reviews of Metroid Fusion

Customer Review: (If I could choose 1 billion stars for this, I would do it)
Summary: 5 Stars

This game is so awseome!!!!!!!!!! It is better than all the other stinkin' metroid games. Best one yet. First you are in the main deck than you have to go to sector 1, than than 2, than 3, than 4, than 6, than 5, than you do stuff and then fight a spider guy who I can't beat and that's all I know because the spider thingy is like so hard.

Customer Review: Metroid Fusion review
Summary: 5 Stars

I thought Metroid Fusion was a really great game. One of the good things is the power-ups, such as the diffusion missles. I think most of the good bosses are nearer to the end, like Ridley. It can be surprising when you all of a sudden see the S.A.X. in the restricted lab. I thought this game was really great. I would recommend this game to anyone who like action, adventure and suspense.

Customer Review: Worse Metroid Game yet
Summary: 2 Stars

I Have played many metroid titles and this one is the worse i love metroid but this onw sucked this game is harder than metroid prime i am stuck on a boss called shadow When you kill a boss it has a second VERY powerful form if you kill it you need the kill the x that controls it! THE BOSSES ARE VERY hard.

Customer Review: Fun, but too short and no sequence breaking.

Ah, foo. I played Zero Mission before this one.
I think it kinda ruined the experience.

The graphics are great. 'Nuf said.

Sound: 65%
Is it just me, or are the music loops shorter than in
any other Metroid game? Sound effects are fantastic though.

Customer Review: The first Metroid game in over 9 years.
Summary: 5 Stars

Metroid Fusion is the true sequel to the previous title Super Metroid for the Super Nintendo. Regardless of that, you won't need Super Metroid as a history lesson... even though that would be a fun lesson.

There's an intro before you start the game that tells you everything you need to know, but right from the start if you have any familiarity with other games in the series, you will know that the suit is different. Well, don't worry too much. All the signature moves are here, plus a new one that lets you grab onto ledges. Doesn't sound like much, but that does change the dynamics of level design. While I'm not a fan of the rather claustrophobic space station setting, you shouldn't worry that much as there will still be some interesting environments... even if most of them are not as open as in previous games, such as Super Metroid.

Anyway, the control scheme is surprisingly good here. Despite lacking two buttons compared to the previous game, this game makes do with what the GBA has. The R button allows you to switch to missles, and unlike Super Metroid's cumbersome "always on" setup, Fusion has made the button a toggle. Even better, if you have power bombs the game is smart enough to know if you are in ball form and go to power bombs instead of missles, so switching weapons is easy.

Visuals are good too, and there're lots of little touches you may not notice the first time through that add something to it.

Sound is okay, but there's are a few issues here. Some of the sound effects, especially one for the power bomb, can be annoying in a way that almost hurts your ears due to the shear volume of it. Though, as far as I know, that may be the only one to worry about. Music is good, though not the masterpiece that Super Metroid's soundtrack was. Still, it usually fits the mood perfectly, and there are some tracks that scare me to the core when listening to them at night (same can be said for some of the events related to some enemies, most notably the SA-X).

Sadly, the game can be a bit on the short side, but for what it's worth Metroid Fusion is a memorable entry in the series, and easily recommended.
