Customer Review: Leaf Green, great remake!
Summary: 4 Stars

I preordered my leaf green game ion about August, and when I played it it seemed like it was like the old versions, but I was wrong! The graphics are amazing and the pokemon learn new moves and you also get an national pokedex once you have owned 60, and caught a johto, hoenn pokemon. They also have 7 pokemon islands which have pokemon not seen in the original blue, red, and green. The only reason that I dont give this game a full 5 stars is because many pokemon u see in johto are not in this game, so how do you beat the game. But you need both games to fill your pokedex, thats all I have to say, see ya!

this game is the best pokemon game ever in my opinion. Although some features of the wireless adapter are a bit pointless like being able to fit 40 people in the union room when it only has a 10 m range and the chat thing is pointless. You have to type in each letter individually or put in words which are pre set to make messages like lets battle or lets trade. Ok the chat thing is only useful if you are death or dumb (cannot talk) and i don't think there are many of those, but still it is a nice feature which not many people will use. Although i think that wireless battling is a great idea because when battling with a link cable it is easy to get the wires tangled up if you are doing a 4 way link. Also the wireless link mens that there is no pulling out of the wires when people get stressed and they are losing aand then saying it was a mistake. other than the stupid features the wireless linking is a really good idea. And the game is great too!

Customer Review: You Can Go Home Again
Summary: 5 Stars

When Pokemon Blue was released in 1998, it was the impetus for me to buy my first-ever Game Boy, the also-just-released Game Boy Color. I loved my Pokemon like I loved my friends, and that whole year you couldn't have pried my thumbs off my Game Boy. I played the later Silver version, too, but the increased complexity of the game was slightly off-putting to me. Then, when Ruby and Sapphire came out, I said 'forget it- I'm too old for this' (secretly thinking, "What good is a Pokemon game without my favorite Pokemon from the first game, Nidoking?").

But Pokemon LeafGreen has turned that all around. It retains the more sophisiticated battle mechanics of Ruby and Sapphire- personalities for your Pokemon, abilities separate from attacks, plus all the new attacks introduced in Ruby and Sapphire- while eliminating the gameplay complications that those games, as well as the Gold/Silver generation, piled on. There are no days of the week, no night and day. The dizzying array of hold items and the bizarre alchemy of the berry system are held back until late in the game. All that remains is the simple story of a boy (or a girl) and his (her) Pokemon, with some extremely engaging battles.

Everything that was wrong with the original Red and Blue is gone. Gone is the necessity of purchasing player's guides galore to tell you what the different attacks do or what a certain term means. By default, simply pushing one of the shoulder buttons on your Game Boy brings up an intuitive context menu, telling you what you can and cannot do in a certain situation. Plus, the graphics are beautiful. Each Pokemon is rendered with consistent style and flair, with fully realized front view, back view, and menu view- unlike the pre-GBA Pokemon games, where they were represented by icons that maybe vaugely sorta resembled them. The environments are no longer blocky and awkward, and the added touches such as entry screens for special areas and reflections in water are very impressive.

All in all, a great buy for new and returning Poke-fans. The original game is great in itself, and being able to unlock the Gold/Silver-era Pokemon and import the Ruby/Sapphire Pokemon is like having two extra games added on to the top. This is all without mentioning the new Wireless Adapter, a 2"-1"-.5" link cable replacement which, combined with the game's simple word-selection safe-chat system, makes Pokemon truly the universal lanquage.

Customer Review: Radical Remake Rampages Shop Shelves!
Summary: 5 Stars

As I said in my title this is a radical remake of the Pok?mon Blue, Red and Yellow without the faults, like the Misingno that gave you infinit Master Balls, and with the amazing new graphics and islands. You can get nearly all the rare Pok?mon like Mewtwo, Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Lugia, Ho-oh, Jirachi and Deoxys. I think you may have to go to one of those Pok?mon Centers if youwant to get the ticket to get on Deoxys or Jirachi's island. There are extra islands on the game that weren't on Pok?mon Red and Blue. As someone before me said there are Pok?mon from all the regions and there are on the different islands.

There is also a Pok?mon Emerald coming out, I think that is really annoying. Japan has released two great games in one year. Emerald has got moving Pok?mon like in Crystal and it's based in Hoenn with Brandon and May. The Pok?mon that Emerald is based on is Rayquaza, my favourite Pok?mon, but I'll wait. We have to get the wonders of Leaf Green first.

Overall Pok?mon Leaf Green and Fire Red are must buys for any Pok?mon fan who loves the games.

Customer Review: A quick remake - stick to Ruby or Sapphire
Summary: 2 Stars

I bought this game the day it came out, and was I ever wrong about doing that! This game is basically just a quick throw together effort by Nintendo to capitalize on the renewed popularity that Ruby and Sapphire brought to the game. I mean consider this. Time between Crystal and Ruby about 3 years. Time between Ruby and Leaf Green - half of that. The improvements that were made to the Ruby/Sapphire version are severely lacking here. The Wireless adapter is pretty much a non factor. Unless you're in a Pokemon League and are around many people at once who would be playing this, it's not really good for much else. I feel that too much emphesis was put on getting the product out to the public first, with little thought to improving the game. Basically here's my thought which has been backed up by other players - if you've beat Ruby and Sapphire, why bother? But if you never played the earlier games, maybe this will be new and interesting to you. Also, if you enjoy battling endless amounts of trainers - this game is for you. Otherwise, don't bother!!!
